Congo Birding-A hidden treasure that is yet to be discovered
The sounds and the noise of the birds at any time of the day is another way of relaxation and taking time in the wilderness because these sounds are in credible and persuasive. This make Democratic Republic of Congo so rare and exceptional in its own way.
Democratic Republic of Congo is the third largest country in Africa by area, situated in central Africa with a small length of the Atlantic coastline. The country borders the Central African Republic and Sudan to the North, Rwanda and Burundi to the East, Zambia and Angola to the south, republic of Congo to the West, and is separated from Tanzania by Lake Tanganyika from the East.
Just like other countries, Democratic Republic of Congo too has a diversity of bird species which are not easily spotted in any other part of the Continent. There are various birding destinations within Democratic Republic of Congo and these have certainly made it a birders paradise. However, the National parks are also the biggest habitats of so many bird species within the country.
With Luck and right conditions, one can have good bird sightings in Kahuzi Biega National Park where a variety of birds are characteristically and heterogeneously distributed and in mixed flocks. However the best birding is usually in the rain forest especially in the mountain rain forest of Kahuzi Biega national park including Zosterops senegalesis, warblers,, tits, fly catchers,bulbous, weaver birds and the negro finches- which are essentially granivorouss.
